Fall River YOUth Groups

YOUth VOICE is a “Super Group” of various youth groups in Fall River. VOICE stands for Volunteer Organizations to Initiate Community Engagement. These groups meet monthly to plan future events and discuss things that we would like to do for our community. Below is a list of youth groups, including those that are a part of YOUth VOICE:

TEAM FRESH

BOLD: BUILDING OUR LIVES DRUG-FREE/TADA

PLOT

Teens against drugs and alcohol (TADA) promotes a safe and healthy city without the dangers of these substances.

PLOT is a middle school youth group that helps service elementary schools and solve problems in their schools.

PEACEFUL COALITION

Helps to solve problems in our community and form a peaceful group for teenagers surrounded by violence.

CFC FAMILY PLANNING “MAKING PROUD CHOICES”

Constructs and renovates communities in Fall River. This program is offered to youth at risk of not completing their high school education and dropouts.

YOUTH BUILD

The Freedom Writers Club is a club that reaches out to the students at B.M.C. Durfee High School in order to promote tolerance for others, celebrate our diversity and make positive changes within ourselves and in our community.

FREEDOM WRITERS

Our organizations mission is to keep youth off the streets and occupied. We do this by providing them with fun extra curricular activities and positive mentors.

The program is designed such that University students and staff come to class once per week throughout the school year. They will work with the students and their teacher to develop leadership skills through service learning projects to help address social issues in the community.
