Employment is a big step in one’s life, this is a place were you can come get some information and examples of what to do, where to go, basically where to begin. In the first section we will go over Resume’s and what they are, following that we discuss Cover Letter’s and what they are all about. Next we continue on to some places that could be hiring and we wrap it up with what the interview process is and what is expected from you.
When looking for work you need to have a resume. A resume by definition is a written document that lists your work experience, skills, and educational background. When creating your resume you should include any special skills, achievements, volunteer work that you have had. If this is your first resume include any babysitting or paper routes you had as a child.
When preparing your resume you should begin with a statement or mission statement. This is a brief paragraph no more then 2-3 lines that best describe you and who you are as well as what you can offer. An example of this could be “along with my youth I bring an eagerness to learn new things and a desire to do them well”.
Listed below are a series of templates on what a resume should look like. There are many different types but the information should all be there.
Here is a website that goes into a bit more detail as well as cater to specific types of resume’s.

Many employers today are also requiring a cover letter. A cover letter is a document sent with your resume to provide additional information on your skills and experience. This is very similar to the opening statement on your resume but the cover letter should also include the position that you’re applying for. Below you will find a link to several example cover letters.
Now that you have all this built its time to apply for that job. In this next section you will find links to employers with applications to apply online.
In this section you have a series of Job Search Engines where you can lookup multiple jobs.
Now that you have applied and the place of business has called you in for an interview there are several things that you should know. The interview process is the next step in hiring someone; this is where the employer is evaluating you the future employee. When obtaining the information for the interview it is important to verify the time, date, location and the name of the person you will be meeting with. It is always in your best interest to arrive early, you should always dress professional, here is a brief description of what to wear at an interview.
What Not to Wear on an Interview
While in the interview pay close attention to what is being told to you. That person is explaining to you the job that you will be performing. Asking a question is always a good idea it shows that you’re involved in the conversation; a good example question would be “is there growth in this position?” “How long have you been with the company?” Those are just some examples of possible questions to ask, the important thing is to be professional and act professional in the interview as well as the job.
